AVAD Plans More ‘Vend-O-Paloozas’

Van Nuys, Calif. — AVAD will host three more Vend-O-Palooza dealer shows, inspired by the success of its first event of that kind held earlier this year.

The first of the three events will kick off tomorrow, Oct. 2, at its Fort Lauderdale, Fla. branch. Other Vend-O-Paloozas will follow on Oct. 16 in Smyrna, Ga., and Oct. 23 in Dallas.

Each of the events will serve as an opportunity for area dealers to interact with manufacturers. According to AVAD, attendees will have the chance to view product demonstrations, participate in raffles and giveaways, and purchase products at special prices. Dealers can also attend workshops.

The company said its first Vend-O-Palooza, held in August at its Elk Grove Village, Ill., branch was attended by nearly 150 local dealers and featured 18 manufacturers.

Tomorrow’s event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature three training seminars:

·         “Avoiding Cash Drawer Crisis,” where AVAD’s chief financial officer Chris Burns will discuss managing the financial aspects of a business;

·         “Law and Mortar,” a discussion to be lead by Bob Smith, dean of AVAD University, where he’ll teach dealers how to navigate legal pitfalls; and

·         “One Sales Person to Another,” to be lead by Mike Detmer, sales and marketing VP at Miami-based Nikes Audio. According to AVAD, he’ll share sales and marketing techniques.
