New York – AudioXperts, the luxury audio brand launched in mid-2012 by industry veteran Eli Harary, is coming to CE Week to preview its first portable Bluetooth speaker, the EVA BLU.
Last year the Boston-based company unveiled a series of home-audio products that included a pair of high-end 4TV Audio Entertainment Consoles that double as TV platforms. The products also included tabletop EVA (EnVironmental Audio) Music Systems and Korners component speakers, which are designed to be room- and designer-friendly because of their unusual shape.
For indoor and outdoor use, the company is readying EVA BLU, a two-way Bluetooth speaker that packs 30 watts of amplification, two 20mm dome tweeters two 2-inch woofers, a passive radiator, and aptX decoding in a bamboo enclosure. AptX technology delivers CD-quality sound by eliminating the compressed-music artifacts that Bluetooth’s SBC audio codec makes more noticeable when an MP3 file or other compressed-music file is transmitted wirelessly, according to aptX developer CSR.
The speaker’s lithium-ion battery offers up to six hour of continuous playtime.
The speaker also comes with a built-in digital audio connection for digital media devices. The connection can also be used with an optional Apple AirPort Express to add AirPlay capability.
The portable speaker’s cabinet is made of bamboo, promoted by AudioXperts as “a natural material significantly more sustainable than the wood materials found in traditional audio systems.”
The company’s EVA line will ship later this summer.
aptX converts compressed music to PCM, then re-encodes it into compressed aptX for over-air transmission via Bluetooth. Once received, the file is restored back to PCM. AptX is incorporated in multiple smartphones and tablets, headphones, and tabletop digital media speakers. Apple also supports aptX over Bluetooth in its desktops and laptops.
