Audiovox To Offer e-reader

Hauppauge, N.Y. – Audiovox told analysts it will enter
the e-reader market at International CES and will also show at least one new
FLO TV portable product and a new camcorder.

During a call reporting second
fiscal-quarter earnings
, Pat Lavelle, president and CEO of Audiovox, which
distributes Sirius and XM products, also said the company expects a lift in
Sirius XM sales due to a Rock and Reward consumer promotion that gives awards
up to $100 cash back in a Visa card with the purchase of a subscription.  The promotion is scheduled through the fourth
quarter.

Specifics on the new e-reader, FLO TV portable and camcorder were
not offered.

Also on the conference call Lavelle told analysts the company
will likely avoid further layoffs other than minor “tweaking.”  Lavelle said, “We’ve cut as deeply as I would
like to see given our new programs we have in place,” which he cited as the
launch of FLO TV and new Sony PlayStation overhead video for the car.

However, Audiovox continues to look for ways to make warehousing
more efficient, it said.
