Audiovox Debuts Car Electronics At CES With Several Of Its Brands

Audiovox is introducing car and vehicle security and entertainment electronics with several of its brands during International CES this week. Audiovox can be found at booths 11006 and 10506 in the Central Hall.

The Jensen VM9512 is a DVD/MP3/WMA/AAC multimedia in-dash receiver compatible with iPod, RDS, USB, SD and Bluetooth. It is also satellite- and HD Radio-ready with 240 watts peak power (60×4), and has a 7-inch swivel TFT LCD touch screen. The suggested retail is $699. It will ship March 15.

The VM9512 is an in-dash all-in-one multimedia head unit that incorporates a MediaPlextm twin core. The MediaPlex core offers digital signal processing, enhanced GUI, improved disc playback and reliability, cooler operation and faster switching between sources and/or menus, the firm said.

Under the Audiovox brand comes the APS901, a remote-start system with a stylish transmitter that not only looks great, the firm said, but also provides outstanding performance and extended range.

Designed to be used with a factory keyless-entry system, Tom Malone, senior VP of sales, noted, “The Audiovox APS901 is a small one-button remote start transmitter with a 1,200-foot range and a feature that allows the doors to be unlocked while the vehicle is remote started. It has a price tag of $299. The APS901 also includes a parking-lot flasher and is diesel compatible with a selectable run time of 5, 10, 15 and 20 minutes.”

The Audiovox APS 998 dot-matrix remote start transmitter features an LCD screen and display confirming messages in three languages: English, Spanish and French. Additionally, the LCD screen background changes color, depending on the feature selected.

The newly designed transmitter also features a durable rubber-encased grip and will work up to a quarter mile away, depending on conditions such as buildings and other obstacles. It has a suggested retail of $499 and does not include installation.

Under the Code Alarm brand is the CA 44OSS StartStick, a stand-alone remote-start system that has more than three times the starting range of a factory keyless entry with a simple one-button push. The suggested retail is $139.

And under the Jensen brand is the MP6612i CD/MP3/WMA/iPod/USB/SD card receiver. Bluetooth- and satellite radio-ready, it has a motorized swing-down front panel with Integrated SD Card slot, 240 watts peak power (60×4), and a suggested retail of $199.99 with shipments ready March 15. The Jensen MP6612i receiver requires no add-on modules and features under-dash interface adapter that allows USB and Bluetooth connectivity that supports iPod and aux input connectivity free (HFP) profile. An SD card interface supports up to 4GB cards.

Audiovox also introduces rear-sensing systems mount in vehicle tow hitch of an SUV or truck, effectively minimizing the vehicle’s rear “blind zone” when the vehicle is in reverse.

The ASH300 wireless hitch-mounted rear-obstacle sensing system uses ultrasonic technology to help drivers detect objects beyond their normal field of vision when they are backing up. The system consists of a wireless FM transmitter and receiver and covers three detection zones through three rear-mounted sensors. Suggested retail is $249.95.

Also under the Audiovox brand is ASXKO7 FlashLogic that reduces the number of modules a dealer needs to provide security and convenience features (one FlashLogic module can replace up to 15 modules), which translates to fewer SKUs for dealers to stock. The suggested retail ranges from $70 to $145.
