Las Vegas - Audiovox is using the SEMA show, being held here this week, to announce that it's adding to its Advent brand of multimedia systems for the Toyota Venza and Prius OE-style multimedia head units.

The Toyota Venza (OTOVEN1) and Prius (OTOPRI1) OE head units include built-in navigation with Navteq U.S. and Canada maps with 11 million points of interest and 3D landmarks. They also have turn-by-turn voice guidance in 13 languages; spoken street names in English, French and Spanish; built-in Parrot Bluetooth with external Parrot microphone; 7-inch touchscreens; and are Made for iPhone, iPod, XM-ready.

The rearview camera features Instant-on technology. A MediaLink interface module has USB 2.0 and 3.5mm A/V inputs that reportedly allow video from an iPod or iPhone. A three-year warranty is included; Audiovox should be contacted for pricing information.

Audiovox also noted that its Advent-branded Hyundai Sonata OE Sound Solution system (OHYSON1) is now compatible with Hyundai's Telematics Blue Link System.

Additionally, Omega Research and Development, which has a distribution agreement with Audiovox, will use the show to introduce its upgraded Excalibur remote-start systems. Eight new models make up the line, including the entry-level RS-240-DP one-button remote-start system and the deluxe RS-230-DPB with low-temperature detection, valet switch, status indicators and Blade cartridge support.

The Blade cartridge technology allows them to be docked directly on the remote starter, eliminating module-to-module wiring, according to Hircio Barrios, Omega R&D operations manager. "Using a computer, you can quickly re-flash the Blade cartridge's firmware, the remote starter's firmware, set the remote starter's programmable features and basically configure the entire system before picking up any tools," he noted.

The RS-340-EDP+ deluxe keyless-entry and remote-start system features extended range remotes with up to 1,500-foot operating range, metal accents, valet switch and status lights integrated into the antenna, low-temperature auto start and low-temperature auto crank adjust.

Omega should be contacted for pricing.
