Dallas - AT&T will offer a 4G version of Acer's 10.1-inch tablet with Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) OS through its stores nationwide and through its website.

Sales of the Acer Iconia Tab A501 through AT&T outlets begin Sept. 18 at $479 without a two-year service contract or at $329 with a two-year contract for a new $35, 3GB monthly data plan.

The tablet features a 10.1-inch multi-touch screen, Nvidia Tegra 2 mobile 1GHz dual-core processor, and 4G HSPA+ technology, not 4G LTE technology.

Consumers who exceed the 2GB allotment are charged $10 per 1GB of overage. Consumers on the 250MB plan who exceed their monthly data allotment will be charged $14.99 per 250MB of overage. Charges appear on the consumer's monthly wireless statements.

The prepaid plans include $14.99 for 250MB or $25 for 2GB. Charges appear on credit card statements. Customers on the 2GB plan who exceed their monthly data allotment can buy an additional 2GB for $25.
