ATM Demos A/V System Ventilation Unit

Active Thermal Management will demonstrate its SEC-1 (small enclosure cooler) A/V system ventilation system at International CES this week in Las Vegas Convention Center booth 25122.

The SEC-1 started shipping in mid-December with a $130 suggested retail price; it is designed for the do-it-yourselfer. The kit is comprised of two 80mm fans, a power supply and a magnetically held thermal-control module.

The SEC-1 system can properly ventilate an A/V enclosure of up to 10 cubic feet to 12 cubic feet in size. The fans run continuously to dissipate the heat generated by components that are “always on” like DVRs, cable boxes and satellite receivers. When all the components are running at full capacity, the SEC-1 has the ability to adjust itself to operate at a higher speed to keep down temperatures.

“Purpose-built for the DIY market, the SEC-1 is designed with installation features that simplify the first time installer’s task,” said Frank Federman, ATM president. “The SEC-1 is affordable, easy to install and ensures proper cooling and thermal protection for smaller systems and cabinets.”

To make the kit as easy as possible to install, all its pieces plug together, eliminating the need to cut any wires or solder.
