Another Signature Event

Boston – Signature Media Group plans to buy two more high-end systems integrators to bring its roster of companies to six.

Engineered Environments of Oakland, Calif., and Residential Systems of Wheat Ridge, Colo., signed letters of intent to sell their business to Signature Media Group, whose goal is to consolidate about 20 more companies to create a showroom presence in the top 30 markets, each with populations of at least 700,000. In 18 to 24 months, the member companies will make the transition to the Signature name.

The group’s three founding members are Integrated Media Systems of Sterling, Va., Progressive Audio of Columbus, Ohio, ProLine Integrated Systems of Highland Park, Ill, and a management group led by a former Wall Street executive with mergers and acquisition experience. Signature recently bought Advanced Audio Design of Sarasota, Fla.

Among other things, Signature’s acquisitions are designed to enable member companies to share best business practices, generate future efficiencies, provide an easier way for members to service far-flung clients, and make it possible for members to target national builders.
