Andrews Opens Ky. Warehouse, Adds Execs

Santa Clarita, Calif. – Andrews Electronics, distributor of consumer electronic parts and supply chain services has opened a new warehouse and distribution center in Hebron, Ky.

Andrews said the expansion enables the company to ship replacement parts to consumer electronics service centers and technicians located throughout 90 percent of the continental US in 2 days or less via ground shipping.

Located near UPS’s Hub at the Cincinnati Northern Kentucky International Airport, the new 73,500-square-foot facility will serve as Andrews’ second full-service parts distribution and reverse logistics center, stocking a complete inventory of OEM and private-label repair parts for Sony, LG, Samsung, Panasonic, Toshiba, JVC, Sharp, Philips and more than 40 other consumer electronics and appliance brands.

Mike Cook, Andrews CEO, said, “The addition of this state-of-the-art distribution center will improve our service throughout the Eastern and Southern U.S., and help our customers meet their needs by helping to control costs in the evolving parts distribution market. And given the challenging economy, it’s more important than ever that we improve the value we are able to offer our clients.”

To direct the company’s expansion to Kentucky, Andrews has promoted Jake Hawthorne from California warehouse manager to distribution director, overseeing the Kentucky Distribution Center. Hawthorne, a 13-year veteran with Andrews, has relocated from Southern California to Kentucky.

In addition, Andrews has strengthened its management team with two key additions. Greg Boles was hired as Andrews’ senior VP and general manager. Boles has held several senior management positions in the computer distribution and retail consumer electronics fields over the past 15 years, serving as strategic planning and business development VP at Advantage Sales & Marketing, and as COO/chief financial officer at Campaigners.

John Gilmour has been hired as the company’s new supply chain director. Gilmour has more than 20 years of hands-on supply chain, retail and distribution experience, including many years at Sears, MusicLand and Wherehouse Entertainment.

Both Boles and Gilmour will be based in the company’s Southern California headquarters.
