Seattle – Amazon.com unveiled Wednesday its Never Before on DVD

offering customers the opportunity to purchase DVD copies of up to 2,000 more
obscure legacy movie and TV titles that were not previously available in the
disc format from studios including Disney, Warner, Fox and Sony, among others.
The new service is accessible from Amazon’s Movies and TV
homepage, and offers customers the ability to easily browse and locate titles
of interest for purchase on DVD via Amazon’s CreateSpace DVD on Demand service.
The DVDs are provided for one-time replication through the
DVD on Demand service.
Blu-ray Discs are not available through the service.
Amazon said the store will expand its current selection of titles
with additional classics from Disney, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, Warner
Bros. Home Entertainment and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.
The Never Before on DVD store will offer current content from
other studios and networks, including CBS Networks, Lionsgate Home
Entertainment, MTV Networks, Nickelodeon and Universal Studios Home
Entertainment, the e-commerce retail said.
Many titles are also available on Amazon Instant Video and Prime
Instant Video, including MTV’s “Mob Wives: Season 1,” MTV’s “Teen Mom: Season
1,” Nickelodeon’s “Rugrats: Season 1” and Universal Studios’ thriller “The
Island” starring Michael Caine.
