Altec Lansing Returns To Audio Market

Las Vegas – The Altec Lansing brand returned to the consumer audio market here at International CES after worldwide rights to the brand name were purchased in late 2012 by Infinity Lifestyle Brands.

More than a dozen Altec Lansing products are on display by Sakar International, which is Infinity’s first North American licensee. Sakar markets consumer electronics and accessories under multiple licensed brands.

The lineup focuses on portability, Bluetooth-enabled products, wireless speakers, docking speakers, computer audio accessories and speakers, and headphones. All products “truly reflect the essence of Altec’s mission to provide the highest-quality audio experiences to worldwide consumers,” said Ike S. Franco, Managing Partner for Infinity Lifestyle Brands.

Some products incorporate Near Field Communications (NFC) to simplify Bluetooth pairing. The products are on display in Central Hall booth 13245.

New YorkCity-based Infinity Lifestyle Brands specializes in acquiring and turning around struggling or bankrupt consumer brands. The company purchased the Polaroid and Linens ‘n Things brands in 2010, purchased the Sharper Image brand in 2009 and later sold it off, and is part of a joint venture that owns licensing rights to the Miss America brand.

Altec Lansing, which has been in the audio market for 75 years, was previously owned by an affiliate of Prophet Equity, which auctioned off the company’s IP and brand name.
