Altec Lansing Intros Video-Capable iPod Dock

Milford, Pa., – Altec
Lansing introduced on Tuesday the new Octiv 650 docking speaker system for the
iPhone and iPod Touch, which delivers audio and displays full-screen video from
the Apple device onto a TV screen.

Consumers can also use
the company’s free Music Mood app for preloaded sounds and videos, such as a
fireplace or a river stream. The app also has a seven-band graphic
equalizer.

Features include wedge
shape with flat front panel, two 3-inch full-range drivers, and a nested 4-inch
subwoofer for deep bass.

Users can watch videos
with the Octiv 650 by using the component and composite video-out jacks.  A second audio device can be also added
through the auxiliary input, and a remote lets users control the audio and
navigate their device from across the room. The Octiv 650 automatically pauses
when a call is received on an iPhone, the company said.

It will be available in
black and slate in May for $199.
