Torrance, Calif. — Alpine announced plans to market its first HD DVD player for the car, after demonstrating a player at the recent Automotive Engineering Exposition in Japan and at January’s International CES in Las Vegas.
The player would be jointly developed with Toshiba and could be available to the U.S. market by 2009, said Alpine VP marketing Steve Witt. “We are in the very early stages of preparing the HD DVD Alpine automotive platform,” he said.
