Torrance, Calif. — Alpine lowered the price of its eX-10 iPod/Bluetooth controller that sits on the car’s dashboard to a suggested $180, down from $230.
The plug-and-play unit has a 2.4-inch color TFT to display iPod information including album art. It also displays caller ID and phonebook information when used with a Bluetooth phone for hands-free calling.
The device controls an iPod through its own remote control. Music-ready Bluetooth phones can also connect wirelessly to the eX-10 to stream music through the car’s sound system.
iPods connect to the eX-10 via a supplied cable.
