Almo Eyes Acquisitions

New York – Almo Professional A/V said it will investigate
making acquisitions, hire staff and add new vendors in 2011.

The distributor reported this at its E4 Pro A/V event held
at the Roosevelt Hotel, here, today.

Sam Taylor, Almo Professional A/V executive VP and COO, said
Almo’s plans for the coming year include hiring additional sales and
marketing staff, bring on new vendors and is open to making new acquisitions.

“We will do acquisitions, but only if they make sense,” he
added.

The firm also plans to add to its list of 30 vendors, but
Taylor said this would follow the organization’s policy of being very
selective. Almo just added SeeVee in early December, a maker of analog to HD
encoding equipment for the industrial market.

Taylor was happy to report that he sees the pro A/V market
growing.

“But there is a dichotomy out there with some resellers
doing very well and others not,” he said adding, the key to success is to focus
energy on a particular area like digital signage or the education market.

Almo will also expand its educational offerings for its
membership, which now includes about 1,600 resellers.

Melody Craigmyle, Almo’s marketing director for Pro A/V,
said the E4 show will next appear in the San Francisco area on April 6 and in
Dallas on May 3.
