Aliph Debuts Jawbone Prime

San Francisco — Aliph has added to its line of Bluetooth headsets with the latest edition of the Jawbone, known as the Prime.

The Jawbone Prime will be offered in a variety of colors, which the company is calling the Earcandy line, and will be available May 2 for a $129 suggested retail.

TWICE spoke with Travis Bogard, product management and strategy executive director at Aliph, earlier this month to go over some of the details of the new Jawbone.

The Prime features the company’s NoiseAssassin 2.0 technology, which is designed to eliminate background and wind noise more effectively. To accommodate the different ways users wear the headset, the product features an Acoustic Voice Activity Detector (AVAD) that reportedly operates when the Voice Activity Sensor (VAS) is not touching the user’s face.

When the VAS is touching the user’s face, he will experience what Bogard called a “turbo boost” in performance.

Other features include multipoint functionality, a listed talktime of 4.5 hours and “more than” eight days of standby time. Its design has a tactile shield that Bogard said is meant to “make button navigation intuitive,” and it comes with three original ear buds, three New Fit ear buds and an additional ear loop.

Available colors for the Prime include Blah Blah Black (matte black), Coffee Talk (satin brown) and Going Platinum (platinum). The Earcandy line includes Frankly Scarlet (red), ‘Yello! (yellow), Drop Me A Lime (green) and Lilac You Mean It (purple).
