Aio Wireless Adds Latest iPhones

Alpharetta, Ga. — AT&T subsidiary Aio Wireless, which launched earlier this year with no-contract cellular service, has begun offering the iPhone 5s and 5c.

The 16GB 5s is available at $649, and the 16GB 5c is priced at $549. The 32GB version of the 5c is priced at $549.

The company, which targets the value-conscious, also offers the 16GB iPhone 5 at $549, the 16GB iPhone 4S at $399, and the 8GB iPhone 4 at $299.

The company has been offering iPhones since it launched service in select cities in May, a spokesman said. The company has since expanded its store count to more than 240 and has begun to offer service to consumers nationwide via its web site.

Aio service is sold only through Aio-brand stores operated by third parties and through Aio’s website.

Stores are located in the following 14 markets: Atlanta; Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and Austin, Texas; and Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, Gainesville, Fort Myers/Naples, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, Fla.

The company also offers smartphones and feature phones from Nokia, ZTE and Samsung, whose Galaxy S4 is priced at $579. The selection includes LTE phones and tablets.

Aio offers three no-contract plans, all offering unlimited talk and text and select amounts of high-speed HSPA+ and LTE data. Plans range from $40 to $70 per month, with taxes and fees included. After the 4G caps are exceeded, data speeds are throttled back, and overage fees aren’t charged.

The company also lets users bring their own device to the network, and it offers a trade-in credit on qualifying phones towards new phones or accessories.
