Acer Intros Latest Aspire Notebooks

San Jose, Calif. — Acer America today introduced four Aspire Gemstone notebook platforms, the Aspire 8930, 6930, 5735 and 4730.

The Aspire 8930-6448 features an 18.4-inch HD CineCrystal widescreen display. It offers Blu-ray Disc technology, NVIDIA GeForce 9600M graphics and Dolby audio. The machine is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo processor. It comes with a 320GB 7,200 rpm SATA hard drive, a DVD-Super Multi double-layer drive, a six-in-one digital media card reader, is 802.11a/g/Draft-n Wi-Fi certified, features an Acer Crystal Eye Web cam and comes with Windows Vista Ultimate. The 8930 has a suggested retail of $1,700.

The Aspire 6930-6809 also runs on Intel Core 2 Duo technology. It features a 16-inch HD CineCrystal LCD panel with a 16:9 aspect ratio. Other features include its Dolby Home Theater surround sound, its 320GB 5,400 rpm SATA hard drive, a five-in-one digital media card reader, an 8x DVD-Super Multi double-layer drive, 802.11 a/b/g/Draft-n Wi-Fi, and an Acer Crystal Eye Web cam. The machine comes with Windows Vista Home Premium and retails for a suggested $699.

The 5735-4624 offers 15.6-inch LCD display panel with a 16:9 aspect ratio. It has an Intel Pentium Dual-Core processor and features 2GB of memory. Other features include a 160GB SATA 5,400 rpm hard drive, an 8x DVD-Super Multi double-layer drive, a five-in-one digital media card reader, 802.11b/g/Draft-n Wi-Fi, 4 USB 2.0 ports and Windows Vista Home Premium. It is priced at a suggested $549.

Finally, the Asprire 4730-4374 features a 14.1-inch display and runs on an Intel Pentium Dual Core processor. It has a 120GB SATA 5,400 rpm hard drive, an 8x DVD-Super Multi double-layer drive, a five-in-one digital media card reader and 802.11b/g/Draft-n Wi-Fi as well as an Acer Crystal Eye Web cam. It has two USB 2.0 ports, comes with Windows Vista Home Premium and will retail for a suggested $549.

All will be available in the fourth quarter.
