Acer Iconia W4 Tablet Debuts

San Jose, Calif. – Acer rolled out a new 8-inch tablet, the Iconia W4.

The tablet runs on Microsoft’s Windows 8.1, comes with Office Home and Student 2013 and is powered by an Intel 1.8GHz Atom processor. Acer believes the Iconia W4 will interest consumers looking for a media device that has the crossover ability to be a productivity tool.

The 1,200 by 800 resolution IPS display has a 170 degree viewing angle and Zero Air Gap technology that removes the air between the touch panel and the LCD which reduces reflection and increases readability in bright environments.

Other features include 5-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel cameras and 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. An additional 32GB can be added via the microSD slot. Available accessories are a Bluetooth keyboard and cover.

The tablet starts shipping this month with the 32GB version carrying a $329 suggested price and the 64GB version priced at $379.
