San Jose, Calif. - Acer today added two 3D displays, a 27-inch LCD monitor and a home-theater projector.

The 27-inch HR274H LED backlit 3D monitor can not only play dedicated 3D content, but convert any 2D content into 3D, the company said. The monitor uses a chip-based solution to create the effect, and a pair of passive, polarized glasses is included, Acer said.

The display features 1,920 by 1,080 screen resolution and has a single HDMI port for connecting a Blu-ray player, game console or set-top box.

It is shipping now with a $599 suggested retail.

The H9500BD home-theater projector can also convert 2D content to 3D and delivers the same resolution as the 27-inch monitor. It has image projection sizes ranging from 20 to 300 inches, and it supports multiple 3D technologies, including Blu-ray 3D, DLP 3D, Nvidia's 3DTV play and 3D-compatible gaming consoles.

The projector can adjust from its native 16:9 aspect ratio to 4:3 and can connect via its two HDMI ports, fully digital DVI-D port and HDCP. There are also two sets of D-Sub audio connectors.

It is now shipping with a $1,999 suggested retail.
