Logitech Marries Gaming & Power For iPhone
NEWARK, CALIF. — Logitech took the wraps off its first iPhone gaming controller, the PowerShell Controller + Battery.
The device attaches to an iPhone 5, 5s or a fifth-generation iPod Touch running iOS 7 for console-style gaming with a D-pad, shoulder triggers and face buttons. It also has a 1,500 mAh battery that will charge the Apple device during game play, and comes with a headphone extender to prevent the cable from interfering with game play.
The controller is currently available at Apple’s online store and BestBuy.com for $99.99. It will be sold through other retailers this month.
Armorz Adds Gorilla Glass Screen Shield
BREA, CALIF. — Armorz is bringing to market the first Retina screen shield for the iPad Air and new iPad Mini made from Corning’s Gorilla Glass.
The Stealth Extreme R transparent shield is 0.4mm-thick tempered Gorilla Glass with a 9H hardness rating, a layer of silicon adhesive to eliminate bubbling, and an oleophobic screen coating to fight fingerprints and smudges. It features tapered edges to reduce impact.
Vanesa Rey Debuts Necklace iPhone Cases
BEVERLY HILLS, CALIF. – A line of fashionable iPhone 5 cases worn around the neck like necklaces debuted from start-up Vanesa Rey.
The 14-SKU line of Necklace Cases features genuine leather and man-made composite “vegan leather” constructions with a snap-open wallet pocket for cards and cash. The case holds an iPhone with the screen facing the wearer for easy access.
The Necklace Cases are offered in two collections, the Signature Collection of business models, and the Jewelry Collection, which adds a flourish of gems to the front of the case. Both lines come in a variety of colors, including Black Lily, Mint Flower, Pink Peony, White Orchid, Red Poppy, Blue Lilac and Birch Tree Tan. The Signature Collection cases will retail for $99 and the Jewelry cases will be $149.
The cases launched online at VanesaRey. com. Retail distribution is slated for the first quarter. Rey said the intention is to distribute across channels, in traditional CE stores as well as fashion and apparel retailers. The company has plans to expand into cases for tablets and other devices in 2014, Rey told TWICE.
