Aamp Buys American International

Tampa Bay, Fla. – Aamp of
America, a major supplier of mobile audio/video components and accessories such
as installation kits, has acquired

American
International

, which also supplies car audio installation kits and
accessories.

Aamp markets accessories and kits
under such brands as Stinger, iSimple, Pacific Accessory, Sound Quest and Best
Kits & Harnesses. Aamp also sells car audio components under the Phoenix
Gold brand.

The acquisition is the latest in
a series of acquisitions closed by Aamp as part of a growth and investment
strategy launched in early 2009. Acquisitions have included Phoenix Gold in
2009 and Select Distributors (Select Products). Aamp also acquired Pacific Accessory
in 2009 and merged it with its peripheral electronics division into a single OEM-integration
solutions provider.

In other expansion efforts, Aamp said it has expanded
its technical support hours, tech training capabilities and logistics
infrastructure.

“American International and Best
Kits & Harnesses will continue to service their current and future business
partners worldwide and focus on synergies that exist to enhance and improve the
level of technical innovation, product offerings, training, marketing and
service available to our customers,” said Aamp CEO Ron Freeman.

American International products include
car stereo installation kits, wire harnesses and antenna accessories. American
International will continue to market and manufacture out of its Camarillo,
Calif., facility. American’s products will be
displayed at the Aamp booth at International CES in the North Hall, booth 909.

Aamp is a portfolio company of
the

Audax Group

, an investor in
lower-middle market companies.

In a separate announcement, Phoenix
Gold appointed Ken Wiseman as sales director. Wiseman has 19 years of sales and
account management experience in the industry, most recently serving for six
years as director of sales and marketing for
Elettromedia-USA, importer of Audison and Hertz from Italy. Before that,
he was with Eclipse for three years as a regional and
national sales manager and with Sony Mobile for 10 years as a key account sales
manager.
