The next door knock you hear might very well be Amazon or Best Buy. In a move that hearkens back to the door-to-door salesman days of the Fuller Brush Man and “Avon calling,” the two tech leaders are stepping up their in-home advisor programs in an effort to forge closer customer relationships and, naturally, to sell more stuff.
“If Best Buy and Amazon are correct, then they may be able to provide at home what shoppers increasingly complain they can never find in the store: a well-informed sales associate.”
