Walmart’s Secret In-Store Weapon

In its battle for holiday market share, Walmart is employing the one thing (person?) Amazon can’t: Santa Claus. The world’s largest retailer is planning to deploy St. Nick to some 3,600 superstores in December, to help drive family foot traffic.

“Wal-Mart is employing Santa, unleashing new mobile features, and going all out with holiday cheer, all to get people into stores as early and often as possible this season. Wal-Mart launched the retail holiday season, 2015 edition, Nov. 1, with most of its efforts, even its most impressive digital features, apparently geared to get people into its stores.”
