In keeping with a campaign pledge, President-elect Donald Trump appears to have brokered a deal with AC maker Carrier Corp. — a unit of defense contractor United Technologies — that will prevent nearly 1,000 U.S. jobs from moving to Mexico. A formal announcement is expected tomorrow.
“The New York Times and CNBC are reporting and Carrier Corp. has tweeted that a deal has been reached to keep some of the west-side plant’s jobs in Indianapolis. The outlets say President-elect Donald Trump and his vice president-elect, Gov.Mike Pence are scheduled to appear in the city Thursday for a formal announcement, according to a transition official who requested anonymity.”
