Tech, Appliance CEOs At Trump Business Breakfast

In one of his first gatherings on his first working day as president, Donald Trump assembled CEOs from a range of industries to elicit ideas, slash regulations and tax rates, and threaten a “substantial” border tax should they export production. Among those at the Oval Office meeting were tech and majap leaders including: Michael Dell; Whirlpool’s Jeff Fettig; Tesla’s Elon Musk; Kevin Plank of Under Armour; CES keynoter Mark Fields of Ford; and Corning’s Wendell Weeks. Trump said he wants to reconvene the group next month and at least once a quarter thereafter.

“Opening his first official week in office, President Donald Trump warned business leaders Monday that he would impose a “substantial border tax” on companies that move their manufacturing out of the United States, while promising unspecified advantages to companies that manufacture domestically.”
