Retail's Biggest Threat Ain't Amazon


A retail apocalypse may indeed be impending, but e-commerce is only partly to blame. According to Bloomberg, massive debt loads  a legacy of leveraged buyouts by private equity firms  are soon coming due for national chains, which could trigger another round of store closures and bankruptcies.

"The so-called retail apocalypse has become so ingrained in the U.S. that it now has the distinction of its own Wikipedia entry."
