The Los Angeles city attorney’s office claims that some sales ads by JCPenney, Sears, Kohl’s and Macy’s falsely indicated that items were being reduced from prices that they had never actually sold for, including a Kenmore front-load washer that was never priced higher than its advertised sale price.
“The Los Angeles city attorney’s office has sued four big retailers, alleging deceptive advertising that it says misled shoppers into believing that thousands of products were on sale at a hefty discount.”
