According to an email obtained by the New York Post, Kmart has formed a Strategic Merchandising Group that is aggressively seeking closeout, overstock and liquidation merchandise to provide its customers with “brag-worthy deals” and a “treasure hunt” shopping experience.
“Kmart has a new sales pitch. The struggling discount chain will offer the highest prices – to buy the merchandise of retailers that are going out of business . In an e-mail obtained byThe Post and sent to bankruptcy attorneys and likely others who work with distressed retailers, Kmart said it “guaranteed” the “highest recovery” prices via its new Kmart Strategic Merchandising Group.”
