The use of the Java APIs makes it easier for Android apps, computer programs, and web sites to talk to one another. Software developers hailed the fair-use ruling, sayingOracle’s position would have stifled software innovation by discouraging programmers from using APIs, making development harder and possibly rendering some apps inoperable.
