FCC questions Comcast’s move to ditch cable boxes

The FCC contends Comcast’s decision appears to offer only a proprietary, Comcast-controlled user interface on different devices rather than letting those devices search across Comcast content and other subscription content.

“Cable giant Comcast said Wednesday it will allow some customers to watch cable TV without leasing a set-top box, responding to federal regulators’ heightened efforts to open up the pay-TV set-top box market. Bt the FCC wonders if the decision goes far enough.”
