Despite declaring bankruptcy in 2009, the charitable foundations of the original Circuit City were not affected. Funds are now being managed by a public charity, according to this report.
“Circuit City Stores Inc. and LandAmerica Financial Group Inc., once major employers in the Richmond area, are long gone. But the two defunct companies — one a consumer electronics retailer and the other a real estate services company — are still spreading goodwill.”
