Wilson Taps Two To Target Custom Channel

St. George, Utah — Wilson Electronics, the supplier of residential and in-vehicle cellular-signal boosters, is stepping up its focus on the residential custom-installation channel.

The company appointed two people to the newly created positions of eastern and western regional sales managers for the custom channel.

Eric Mercil, who most recently managed Monster Cable’s distribution and regional/independent channels, will oversee custom-install efforts in the eastern region. Joe Wood will manage custom efforts for the western region. He most recently was a sales manager with the manufacturer’s rep firm Momentum Group. He was also sales VP for RevelTV.

In addition, Wilson promoted Blake Seese, who helped launch the company’s custom program, to the position of national training manager. He will create a national training program for resellers and distributors and continue to support custom-install WCI certification training and trade shows, the company said. He will also develop a sales associate training program for Wilson’s consumer products retailers.

Joe Banos, who oversees the custom group as Wilson’s managing director of strategic markets, said the two new hires will free up Seese “to focus on training our existing and future installers and resellers” and enable the company “to continue to expand at a rapid rate.”
