Viken Takes On Additional Tasks At Sharp

Mahwah, N.J. – Mark Viken of Sharp Electronics Marketing Company of America (SEMCA) has added product marketing responsibilities to his brand-marketing duties, the company announced.

Viken was VP of brand marketing for audio/video, appliances, health products and air purifiers. He becomes VP of brand and product marketing for all of the consumer categories and reports to SEMCA president Jim Sanduski.

“Mark is now responsible for U.S. product and brand marketing across all of Sharp’s consumer offerings,” a spokesperson said.

With the latest change, Viken is taking over product-marketing responsibilities held by Sanduski before he was promoted to president in early January, a spokesperson said.

Viken will work with John Revie, sales VP for A/V, and Chris Hogan, VP of health and environment products, to build Sharp’s business in the U.S., the company said.

Viken’s expanded responsibilities represent the latest management change at Sharp. In early January, Sanduski became SEMCA president after serving in that capacity on an interim basis for several weeks upon the departure of John Herrington.
