Toy Fair 2016 Saw 16% Attendance Jump

Neither nor rain nor snow nor ungodly frigid temperatures could keep the masses from convening on the Jacob K. Javitz Center in New York last week for the 113th North American International Toy Fair.

Held Feb. 13-16, the show welcomed more than 30,600 attendees, a 16 percent increase from the 2015 show, according to the Toy Industry Association (TIA), producers of the show.

The 2016 Toy Fair by the numbers:

*415,000 net square feet of exhibit space;  

*2,166 total international attendees from 93 countries;

*1,200 exhibitors, importers, distributors and sales agents;

*10,040 mass and specialty retail buyers;

5,200 retail outlets represented; and

1,110 print journalists, broadcast reporters and bloggers.

Next year’s show will be held Feb. 18-21.
