Clearwater, Fla. — Global IT and CE distributor Tech Data has made two senior VP appointments.
Promoted to U.S. sales senior VP was Marty Bauerlein, an 11-year company veteran who most recently served as VP of U.S. value-added reseller (VAR) sales.
He succeeds Pete Peterson, who had held the post since 2010 and was reappointed business development senior VP.
In his new role, Bauerlein will lead the development and execution of the U.S. sales plan, reporting to Americas president Joe Quaglia, while Peterson will lead the strategic direction of the company’s IT VAR customer channel and relationships in the U.S., and develop new growth opportunities for Tech Data and its channel partners across traditional and new business models. He will report directly to CEO Bob Dutkowsky.
“Pete’s extensive IT channel experience and network of relationships make him uniquely qualified for his new strategic position,” Dutkowsky said.
He went on to describe Bauerlein as “a proven leader who is adept at building a high-performing sales culture and helping our partners grow. With the IT VAR market playing a key role in Tech Data’s U.S. growth strategy, he is a natural fit to lead our U.S. sales organization to the next level.”
Tech Data serves some 115,000 resellers worldwide and generated nearly $28 billion in net sales last year, placing it at 111th place on the Fortune 500.
