Girard, Ohio — Home-speaker supplier SVS appointed industry veteran Jack Travis as global sales director as part of the company’s effort to expand U.S. and global market share.
“Travis will play a key role expanding SVS retail distribution in the U.S. and abroad while supporting e-commerce efforts for one of the audio industry’s original and most successful Internet-direct brands,” the company said.
SVS had been selling its speakers exclusively through its web site direct to consumers until last year, when it began to add brick-and-mortar and online dealers.
SVS president Gary Yacoubian said Travis’s passion for audio “makes him a perfect fit for SVS since our entire culture centers on getting people to appreciate the benefits of great sound without breaking the bank.”
Travis, an audio and consumer electronics industry veteran for more than 30 years, spent 18 years at the Harman consumer group, having become sales VP for Harman consumer group brands. He also served in senior sales management roles at Monster and Velodyne, and he is an active member of CEDIA and the Consumer Electronics Association, the company said.
