RadioShack’s Executive VP Risch Resigns

Fort Worth, Texas — RadioShack’s store operations executive VP Troy Risch resigned on Friday.

According to an SEC filing placed yesterday, Risch resigned after little more than a year on the job to pursue other interests. His duties, which included overseeing store operations and real estate, will be assumed temporarily by other members of the management team, the filing indicated.

Risch’s resignation comes as RadioShack seeks to close upward of 1,100 locations, or about a quarter of its store base, although a Wall Street Journal report cited bickering between the chain and its lenders over the number of closures.

Risch joined the CE retailer, then under prior management, in late 2012 from Target, where he held a similar post. He forfeits a $275,000 retention bonus that was granted last month in return for staying on through March 1, 2015.
