QMotion Shades Join Azione Assortment

Las Vegas — QMotion Advanced Shading Systems is the latest vendor to partner with Azione Unlimited (AU), the education/buying group for custom retailers and integrators.

The manufacturer makes automated window shades that are powered by standard D-cell alkaline batteries rather than household current. The line, which won “Best New Technical Innovation” from the Window Covering Manufacturing Association (WCMA) in 2012, can be operated by hand, remote or smart device, and also features a patented manual override.

Azione president/founder Richard Glikes said he knew the product was “perfect” for AU members when he first saw it at CEDIA last fall. “This line dovetails exquisitely with our control partners Savant, URC and Elan … [and] we are ecstatic to add QMotion to our focused vendor line up,” he said.

QMotion is the second manufacturer in a month to join Azione’s assortment following the addition of Sennheiser in February. The new vendor partners joined in advance of the group’s Spring Conference, held last week at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas.

Also at the event, Sharp showed the industry’s first Blu-ray/SACD player equipped with WiSA-compliant wireless technology, along with a companion WiSA-compliant VR-WR100U Wireless Bridge. The demo also included a Krell integrated amplifier, a pair of Monitor Audio Platinum 200 speakers and the new Sharp Aquos LC-60UQ17 Q+ LED smart TV.
