VOXX Advanced Solutions President Tom Malone Dies At Age 65

A celebration of life will be held in the late spring

We’re sad to announce that industry great Tom Malone passed away at the age of 65 on March 19 after battling melanoma for six weeks at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan.

Most recently serving as president of VOXX Advanced Solutions, Malone is remembered for his “legendary” work ethic, sense of humor and his passion for athletics and his family.

Malone was born Oct. 3, 1954, in Jamaica, Queens where he grew up in Floral Park and graduated from Holy Cross High School in Queens. He earned his associate degree in business from Nassau Community College. He joined VOXX in 1986 as a product manager, and became president of VOXX Advanced Solutions in 2007.

“His work ethic was legendary,” remembered Patrick M. Lavelle, VOXX director, president, and CEO. “He drove himself very hard and was very competitive. He had tremendous presentation skills. He was very bright and very articulate.”

Malone is survived by his wife of 36 years, Megan; daughters, Caitlin Marinaro, of Miller Place, Sarah Malone, of Manhattan; son, Rob, of Manhattan; mother, Eileen Malone, of Floral Park; sister, Ellen McShane, of Baldwin; and brother, James, of Floral Park. A celebration of life will be held in the late spring. He was cremated, his family said.
