After nearly a decade leading Sharp Home Electronics Company of America (SEMCA) with vision and passion, Peter Weedfald, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, has announced his retirement. Since joining Sharp in 2015, Peter has been the driving force behind the company’s sales and marketing evolution. Under his leadership, SEMCA not only expanded its market share but also deepened its emotional connection with consumers through the “Simply Better Living” initiative.

Peter understood that today’s customers don’t just want products—they want meaningful solutions. His strategies reflected that belief, blending insight, innovation, and empathy to make Sharp more than a brand—it became a trusted companion in the home.

He oversaw U.S. home and commercial sales, brand strategy, and digital marketing with a people-first mindset. Whether launching convection microwaves or refining Sharp’s e-commerce strategy, Peter ensured that every touchpoint spoke with clarity, confidence, and care.

A Career of Transformation

Before Sharp, Peter held high-impact leadership roles that shaped some of the most recognizable names in consumer technology and retail.

At Samsung Electronics USA, he served as SVP of Sales and Marketing, helping drive the brand’s explosive growth across consumer electronics categories.

At Circuit City, as EVP and CMO, he led the company through a digital transition, while at ViewSonic, he helped take the brand from 15th to 1st in the U.S. monitor market through sharp strategy and strong channel relationships.

Earlier, at Ziff-Davis Publishing, he served as EVP and Publisher of PC Magazine and Computer Shopper, overseeing some of the most influential titles during the rise of the personal computing era.

Every chapter of Peter’s career is marked by bold moves, breakthrough growth, and a unique ability to humanize technology.

Thought Leader and Mentor

In addition to his corporate roles, Peter has been a powerful voice in thought leadership. As a Forbes Business Development Council contributor, he has published widely on leadership, creativity, and negotiation—emphasizing purpose-driven performance and servant leadership.

His book, Green Reign Leadership, published in over 11 countries, encapsulates his leadership philosophy—rooted in clarity, compassion, and courage. Proceeds from the book go to children’s charities, underscoring his belief that business should also be a force for good.

He’s also contributed to Retail TouchPoints, CXO Outlook, Dealerscope, Money Inc., and more—sharing not just advice, but inspiration.

A Musician’s Soul

What truly sets Peter apart is his extraordinary blend of business brilliance and artistic spirit. A concert-level pianist, Peter first performed at Carnegie Hall at the age of 12 and has continued composing and performing ever since.

His original music—blending jazz, classical, and R&B—has resonated with audiences online and off. He’s known not only for his sharp business mind but for his musical heart. His performances on Casio Privia keyboards continue to bridge his personal passion with his professional path.

As Peter often says, “Music teaches you discipline, sensitivity, and imagination—all the same traits that make a great leader.”

Peter’s leadership style has always been rooted in humanity. He believes in bold ideas—but even more, he believes in people. His teams have always been described as clear, open, passionate, and purpose-driven. He listens deeply, acts intentionally, and leads with trust.

Colleagues share stories of spontaneous encouragement, musical interludes during meetings, and thoughtful notes of thanks. He is the rare leader who inspires performance while nurturing the soul of a team.

A New Chapter

In January 2025, Peter announced his plan to retire by June, staying on to ensure a thoughtful transition for the team and the brand he helped shape. Going forward, he plans to spend more time with family, continue his musical journey, and explore selective opportunities to consult, mentor, and create.

This new chapter won’t be a quiet one. Peter’s energy, passion, and voice remain vital—and he’s not done sharing them.

A Legacy That Resonates

Peter Weedfald’s retirement is not just the conclusion of a job—it’s the celebration of a legacy. It’s a reminder that you can be both analytical and artistic, driven and kind, structured and spontaneous. That success is not measured solely in market share or margins, but in how you lift others along the way.

As Peter begins this new chapter, those who’ve had the privilege of working with him know one thing for sure: the imprint he leaves behind is permanent. Whether in a marketing strategy, a published article, a business transformation, or a piano solo—Peter Weedfald’s legacy sings.

We thank you, Peter, for your brilliance, your generosity, and your enduring example of how business, when done right, can be as beautiful and moving as a perfectly played song.
