More New Faces Come To PCD

Hauppauge, N.Y. –Personal Communications Devices (PCD), the marketer of wireless phones and provider of wireless-device lifecycle-management services, had added more new faces too its personnel roster.

Wireless-industry veteran Amanda Eliot has joined the company as sales VP, and another wireless veteran, Sue Nokes, has joined the company’s board of directors.

The changes follow the return of Katie Wasserman to the company, this time as chief marketing officer, and the hiring of George Appling as president/CEO.

Eliot will be responsible for the U.S. Cellular and Associated Carrier Group (ACG) accounts, and she will lead the PCD sales teams in such areas as strategic initiatives and customer solutions, PCD said. In her 20-year career, she has worked at start-ups and Fortune 500 companies, primarily in the wireless industry, where she has held customer-focused positions at Motorola, Brightstar, Qualcomm and Cellstar, PCD said.

Nokes currently serves as the senior VP of Customer Solutions at Asurion, which offers technology protection services. She has 25 years of wireless industry experience. Before joining Asurion, she was T-Mobile’s Chief Customer and Operations Officer. Nokes led T-Mobile from “worst to first” in Customer Service Satisfaction in 18 months, PCD said in citing a J.D. Power & Associates study.

Wasserman worked at PCD for 17 years before leaving the company and most recently served as a partner in Chicago-based reWorkings. She has more than 30 years experience in the telecom industry.

PCD provides carriers and handset manufacturers with such product lifecycle-management services as planning and development, inventory, technical testing, quality control, forward and reverse logistics, sell-in and sell-through services, and marketing and warranty support for wireless devices.
