Fifteen-year marketing vet Amanda Evans has joined the Mega Group USA buying organization as marketing director.
In her new role, Evans will work with Mega’s vendor partners to create marketing programs that will help the group’s independent dealers better compete with big-box competitors.
“It’s no longer only about how to drive the best deals on products for our members,” said Mega president Rick Bellows. “Our focus is helping our members capitalize on their strengths to compete against the big boxes, and marketing is the cornerstone of our approach.”
Evans will bring to bear her nearly decade-long marketing and national accounts experience at ServiceMaster, a residential and commercial service business that also produced former Toys“R”Us president Hank Mullany.
“Consumers want to shop local and support their neighbors; my goal is to help our members leverage their strengths and reach their communities,” she said.
Last week’s Mega fall convention served as a coming out party for Evans, who met with members and vendors to better understand the dynamics of the group’s furniture, appliance, mattress and CE channels.
