hhgregg CIO Trent Taylor Departs

hhgregg, the troubled multi-regional retailer, has lost another senior-level executive.

Trent Taylor, the chain’s chief information officer, resigned yesterday “to pursue other opportunities,” the company revealed in an 8-K filing.

His departure follows last month’s resignation of president/CEO Dennis May, a longtime lieutenant to the late company leader and founding-family scion Jerry Throgmartin, and whose time at the helm was marked by steepening quarterly losses.

May was succeeded on an interim basis by CFO Robert Riesbeck, who reported Taylor’s parting.

Taylor joined the company in 2011 from Walgreen’s, where he was an executive VP. In the filing, hhgregg said it has begun a search for his successor.

The appliance, CE and bedding chain is expected to announce its fiscal fourth-quarter and full-year results in mid-May.
