Daniel Kippycash, DaVinci Group Founder & CEO, Dies At Age 49

Daniel Kippycash, CEO and cofounder of The DaVinci Group, passed away April 3 of complications from diabetes at age 49.

The DaVinci Group is a manufacturer of architectural audio and other A/V integration products under the TDG Audio, Vanguard Dynamics and Blue Aura brands. Kippycash and chief technology officer Alex Chiou founded the company is December 2012.

Under the company’s transition plans, president Jeff Francisco assumed all CEO responsibilities. Day-to-day operations have been absorbed by existing staff, and no service interruptions are expected, the company said.

“All of us at The DaVinci Group are shocked and saddened by Dan’s untimely passing,” said Francisco. “His vision and strategic clarity have been the foundation upon which this company was built, and we will miss his ongoing insight and guidance.”

Kippycash was born Oct. 21, 1966. In the tech industry, he held roles as Crestron’s director of business development, and in 2000, he was a founding partner in Xplore Solutions, an IP-based automation control system manufacturer. In 2005, he was a founding partner in The Momentum Group, a concierge technology company targeted at the MDU market.

In 2010, Kippycash became product manager for the Nirv automation system at SpeakerCraft, the company where he became associated with Chiou and Francisco.
