CEA, ME Group To Sponsor CarTech Demo Days In November

Arlington, Va. — The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) and Mobile Electronics Group will sponsor the 2014 CarTech Demo Days this November, designed to engage consumers and support automotive electronics retailers.

Mobile Electronics Group, formerly MERA and In Car Experts, is a trade association and buying organization for 12-volt dealers.

The nationwide promotion, to be held every weekend of November, will serve to drive consumers to local automotive technology retail stores for in-store events.

This will be the second CarTech Demo Days of 2014. The spring CarTech Demo Days event incorporated nine sponsoring industry brands and more than 800 retail locations, said CEA.

“We continue to receive positive feedback about the previous CarTech Demo Days, as retailers continue to see the traffic and sales to their locations grow,” said Ron Freeman, CEO of Aamp of America and chair of CEA’s automotive electronics division board of directors. “We encourage those retailers who have not taken advantage of this successful program to speak to their fellow members and learn about the positive impact Demo Days can have on their businesses.”

Through the website CarTechDemoDays.com, consumers can access a national dealer locator and find their nearest local automotive technology retailer. CEA and the Mobile Electronics Group will provide retailers with integrated, co-branded campaign toolkits, allowing them to easily promote the event and drive traffic to their stores. The Revenew Marketing Network will provide dealers with both the digital marketing campaign and the platform to run it.

The robust suite of creative elements will include an event microsite, banner ads, dealer website content, Facebook ads, a Facebook app, direct mail, print ads, in-store posters and a three-touch email campaign, the industry trade groups said.

“The campaign offers an easy-to-use marketing resource that brands and retailers can use to drive traffic in their local market for CarTech Demo Days,” said Chris Cook, president of the Mobile Electronics Group. “There is tremendous innovation happening around in-vehicle technologies, and CarTech Demo Days provides the perfect platform for retailers to educate local consumers about these new advances.”
