If it felt like you were at an industry trade show during last night’s Primetime Emmy Awards broadcast you weren’t alone, as the tech and even the major appliance categories were well represented among the sponsors.
For those who opted for Sunday Night Football, here are some highlights from the commercial cavalcade:
Apple: The Cupertino crew touted its new Series 3 smartwatch in a spot featuring skateboarder Kilian Martin.
Samsung: In a charming pitch for its just-released Galaxy Note8, the company positioned its latest phablet as a fabulous tool for relationship building.
Google: The Alphabet subsidiary used its time to tease what we assume will be the Oct. 4 debut of its next-generation Pixel phone.
Dacor: This one drew a double-take as a first-time TV spot for the luxury majap maker. But now under the wing of media-savvy Samsung, Dacor played with the big boys in a teaser for its Modernist Collection.
GE Appliances: Under the direction of chief commercial officer and former Covergirl exec Rick Hasselbeck, GE is airing a new spate of TV spots that plays up their appliance smarts.
