Because it’s always easier to borrow from others, here is Time Magazine’s Top 10 Gadgets of 2008 (with some commentary added):
- Optoma’s Pico PK101 (Not sure how much I need one, but a very cool gadget.)
- Mitsubishi’s LaserVue 65-inch LCD (I don’t think something this big can be considered a gadget, but again not something I would turn down if it appeared on my wall.
- Apple iPhone 3G (I’m a BlackBerry guy, so I’ll pass.)
- Nikon D90 (It really does do everything. When my current camera breaks, and this one comes down in price, I will give it some serious consideration.)
- FoxL Bluetooth portable speaker
- Sennheiser MX W1 Wireless Headphones (I understand 2008 was the year of the high-end ear bud, and it all started with these guys.)
- Flip Video MinoHD (A very cool gadget that journalists and private investigators will love.)
- Kindle (Call me a purist, but I like my books to be made of paper, but I suppose it’s only a matter of time before e-books take over.)
- Roku Netflix Box (I would have placed this much higher considering I wrote this blog on downloadable movies a few years ago. If I do my own list next year it will be number 1.)
- Sony PlayStation Home for PS3 (I have a Wii, and after several months of trying I can finally beat my 6-year-old daughter at bowling.)
