The devastating tornados that have hit Oklahoma and Texas have drawn the attention from two consumer electronics companies in the area: Jasco Products and RadioShack.
I just spoke with Steve Trice, president of Jasco, which is based in Oklahoma City. Luckily, only one of Jasco’s employees lost a home to the several tornados that have caused terrible damage in the area. “But everyone here knows someone who knows somebody who has been affected,” Trice said.
Jasco is a supporter of a dollar-for-dollar matching grant made available up to $1 million, called the Crossings Community Church Oklahoma Tornado Challenge Grant Relief Fund.

RadioShack reported Monday that it has collected more than $150,000 in donations to the American Red Cross. The donations were made by RadioShack customers at the point of sale at all RadioShack stores nationwide and will directly benefit victims of tornadoes in Texas and Oklahoma.
RadioShack began delivering on Monday the first shipments of its own donated products, including mobile phones, chargers, power inverters, batteries, flashlights and other emergency items to affected areas.
Donations will continue to be accepted at all RadioShack stores in the United States. When checking out, customers continue to have the option of donating $1, $5 or $10 to directly benefit tornado victims in Oklahoma and Texas. The donations will go to the American Red Cross.
