iPhone Accessories March In

With iPhone activations showing no signs of slowing down, accessory manufacturers have been quick to jump on the bandwagon with a host of add-ons for the popular smartphone, along with its music-playing brothers and sisters. Here are just some of the new products that were announced this week:

Klipsch introduced the Image S4i black and chrome in-ear headset, which is designed to work “seamlessly” with the iPhone 3G S, third-generation iPod Shuffle, second-gen iPod Touch, fourth-gen Nano and the 120GB Classic. It features Apple’s three-button microphone and remote system for use with voice and music controls. Klipsch said the S4i remote is the first to be fully compatible with the Apple VoiceOver feature on the third-gen Shuffle. It will be available in August for a $99.99 suggested retail.

Belkin bowed a Shuffle headphone adapter that lets consumers use the headset of their choice. The F8Z452 comes with controls that enable volume adjustment, track skipping, toggling between playlists and hearing song titles. Suggested retail is $19.99. Belkin said it would be available by the end of this month.

iLuv also announced a headphone adapter for iPods, but this one can be used with second-gen Touch, fourth-gen Nano, 120GB Classic, in addition to the third-gen Shuffle. The EA15’s in-line remote is designed to let users control their iPods without having to take them out of their pockets. It will be available in August for $14.99.

Finally, Joby, which is known for its funky camera tripods, released a Gorillapod edition for the iPod and iPhone (as well as other portable devices). It features the trademark Gorillapod ball-and-socket tripod legs that can reportedly attach and balance on “any surface” to allow for hands-free use. Suggested retail is $34.95. It will be available this summer.
